Our Programmes in Wales
Capacity UK delivers learner-centred training programmes from our base in Wrexham, welcoming participants from across the local area and wider North Wales region. Our work focuses on skills development, employability and progression, with a strong commitment to supporting individuals who face barriers to accessing education, training, or international opportunities.
Since establishing our main operational base and training centre in Wrexham in 2024, we have built a growing presence in the region. Our core delivery has focused on Digital Media training, with multiple cohorts running each year. These programmes equip learners with practical, industry-relevant skills while also building confidence, independence, and readiness for the workplace.
As a result, participants have progressed into a range of positive outcomes, including further education, freelance opportunities, and entry-level roles within the digital sectors.
Our Journey So Far
Our Current Provision
Our Wales-based delivery takes place at our Wrexham Training Centre, located at The Foundry in Wrexham town centre, providing an accessible and stable base for delivery across North Wales. The centre supports both structured training and personalised learner support, with dedicated space for programme coordination, guidance and practical Digital Media training.
Our Digital Media programmes equip learners with industry-relevant skills, build confidence and autonomy and support progression into employment, further education, or international opportunities.
Future Development
Building on our current provision, we are planning to expand our programme offer from the 2026/27 academic year with the introduction of an Entrepreneurship for Creative Industries course. This development responds directly to identified local demand from both learners and employers, as well as the evolving needs of the regional creative economy.
The course will aim to support emerging creatives at an early stage in their careers, equipping them with the practical, business, and entrepreneurial skills needed to navigate a competitive and often challenging job market. We also intend to align this provision with existing local stakeholders, including higher education and creative sector initiatives, to ensure relevance and complementarity within the wider ecosystem.
In parallel, we are seeking to introduce international mobility opportunities for our Digital Media learners through the Taith programme. This will enable participants to gain international experience, further enhancing their skills, confidence, and employability.
Wider Context and Contribution in Wales
Our work in Wrexham aligns with broader Welsh priorities around skills development, employability, and inclusive access to opportunities. By combining vocational training with progression pathways and (planned) international mobility, we contribute to strengthening local skills ecosystems while widening participation among underrepresented learners.
Our approach emphasises practical learning, individual support and real-world experience, ensuring that learners are not only equipped with technical skills, but also the confidence and adaptability needed to succeed in both local and international contexts
